Designer Fashion Goes Back To The Future
Have you ever noticed how clothing fashion today means that just about anything goes?
Here’s a little suggestion; when you are next in town on a shopping trip treat yourself to a nice coffee at your favourite coffee house and do a little ‘fashion watching’. Take a look at the people you see and mentally catalogue their clothing based on the era from which the fashion originates, 1960s, 70s etc.
It would appear that almost anything goes these days. You’ll see a lot of young people wearing skinny tight drainpipe jeans that were very fashionable in the 1960s. These may be matched with a pair of trendy, modern sports trainers. And on the top they might be wearing anything from a rock t-shirt to a see through hippy cheese cloth blouse.
Fashions today have become enormously eclectic with fashion conscious young people mixing and matching items from almost any era. I saw one young girl wearing a mixture of high visibility, dayglo colors that honestly hurt my eyes.
This eclecticism is particularly apparent when you look at the jeans people are wearing. You will see everything from skin tight 1960s style drainpipes through to super baggy skater pants or slouchy Fat Face Jeans.
There are some ghastly fashions that I hope we’ll never see again. Do you remember Dallas and those enormous 1980s shoulder pads? During the 1980s everything became bigger, especially hair and shoulder pads. And what about leggings or what some people call ski pants? These were first worn under another garment such as a pair of shorts or a skirt but they were soon being worn on their own.
I’ve been writing this post while sat at a table in a cafe, sipping a Mocha, and I just saw a beautiful young lady walk past wearing shiny red latex leggings. It just goes to prove my point that fashions tend to return no matter how awful they may have been. So my plan is to grow my hair into a huge Mullet and lay my hands on some skin tight stone washed 1980s jeans for that 1980s German look.
I recommend you take a look at Fat Face Clothes. Their range of casual clothes are affordable, comfortable and above all trendy. Take a look at Fat Face Hoodies.
