Restaurant Videos That Hypnotize
As a genre, some restaurant videos have little or no motion graphics, whereas others have a lot of motion graphics. The videos that focus on realistic portrayal of the specialty dishes let the food speak for itself.
At the other end of the spectrum, there are restaurant videos which seem to borrow from an old movie theater technique that was in vogue many years ago. In order to see more refreshments, theater owners would splice images of coca cola into short segments of the film, that literally flash on the screen and leave before anyone could perceive them consciously. The owners found that when the segment played, many members of the audience would get up and go buy a coke.
So in this quasi hypnotic genre of restaurant video, the food is presented not merely in a graphically realistic form, but it is presented in a way that will serve to literally hypnotize the audience and inspire them to go out and visit the restaurant and purchase the food they are viewing in the video. Then we see an arrangement of many pizza boxes on a table, some containing whole pizzas and some partially eaten pizzas. Motion graphics dance in front of the boxes. Then, we see an assembly line of pizzas that resembles a movie film strip, with pizzas sitting in each frame. Then the video presents another abstract graphic. This is a street sign with signs that project out in different directions and at different heights. The signs tell us “Worth driving for.” etc. Then we see a close up of an appetizing deep dish pizza Then we see a video collage of multiple pizzas with many different types of toppings.
